We have both qualitative and quantitative tools available to help us manage our patients. Much of this involves the use of technology which is often very cheap to purchase and can be easily uploaded and used with our smart phones and tablets.
However, unfortunately, as a profession we have been very slow to make the transition from hands on assessments to technology-based muscle performance assessments. Now, I am not suggesting that manual assessments have no place in MSK practice, on the contrary it is integral to all patient encounters to some degree.
But we can, and must start to make use of technology “that can do what our hands can’t do and our eyes can’t see” or we will be left behind and our patients will be poorer because of it.
In this week’s short video I outline some useful clinical tools that can be easily integrated into your musculoskeletal practice.
Please comment, share and discuss this in your place of work .....
Best wishes
